Radio Station on the West Coast
Radio Namakwaland, situated in Vredendal, broadcasts on the 93.4 MHz FM frequency to Nuwerus; Bitterfontein; Vanrhynsdorp; Niewoudtville; Kawer; Citrusdal; Graafwater; Eland Bay; Strandfontein; Lutzville; Lamberts Bay; and Clanwilliam. The signal is also received in parts of Vredeburg and Saldanha. The radio’s listenership profile falls within the LSM one to 10 segments, aged 8 to 80. The station broadcasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week in Afrikaans and English and targets the community as a whole. The programme format is 60% talk and 40% mu
sic. The most recent RAMS figures (August 2009) indicate a listenership of 33 000. The station was established on 1 August 1996.
