PROPOSED OIL AND GAS OFFSHORE SERVICE COMPLEX SALDANHA BAY IDZ
Description:
The Saldanha Bay IDZ Licensing Company (LiCo) was jointly established by the national Department of Trade and Industry, the Western Cape Government and the Saldanha Bay Municipality for the implementation of the Saldanha Bay IDZ Programme.
To this end, LiCo is seeking the necessary environmental authorisation for the development of an oil and gas offshore service complex (OSC) at the Saldanha Bay IDZ. CCA has been appointed to undertake the required full Scoping and Environmental Impact Assessment process.

Status:
The Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) has been updated to a Final EIR, taking into consideration comments received on the Draft EIR. The Final EIR will be made available for a further 30-day public and authority review and comment period from 1 September to 2 October 2015 (making provision for the public holiday on 24 September). Written comments on the Final EIR should be submitted directly to the Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning at the below contact details and copied to CCA by not later than 2 October 2015. Hard copies of the report will be available at the Langebaan, Saldanha and Vredenburg public libraries from 1 September 2015. The full report is also available for download.
