Every piece of high-quality wooden furniture made by Inside Out is uniquely handcrafted. The rustic and coastal feel of the sturdy furniture has made them a household name on the Weskus (West Coast) of South Africa.

Inside Out came into being five years ago when an artisan, André du Plessis, decided to put his passion for working with wood to form a company. His two old partners, Jaco Grobler and Wayne Dalton, took care of both the built in cupboard side and the financial side of the business respectively. They have since left the company to pursue other interests.

The concept for Inside Out was born years ago when Jaco worked for André. They installed kitchen cabinets and laminated flooring. In his spare time, Jaco made ornamental wooden garden furniture and bird feeders. Later, they progressed to making furniture.

In 2013 they formed the company, Inside Out, and found premises with a showroom, a workshop and offices in the Marais industrial area, Vredenburg.

Today André focuses on hand-crafting freestanding furniture pieces of both modern and rustic design.. Wood is a living material with each piece different, ensuring a unique outcome every time. Clients often want perfection but art isn’t perfect. There is beauty in imperfection.

Our furniture, tailored to clients’ ideas, can be found in an assortment of spaces from entrant spaces to luxury homes. Inside Out helps customers to visualize their ideas into furniture they adore and that suit their specific lifestyle.
