Sierra Machine Tools is the brainchild of Michael Sierra, former member and shareholder of Standard Machine Tools. Known in the Machine Tool Industry for his supply of high-quality machine tools, Michael has taken his reputation a step further by offering a full range of machine tools that are low on price, but not low on quality.

Michael knew that making machine tools more accessible would be the key to seeding engineering workshops and pushing manufacturing in Africa, by leveraging the reach of the internet and the cost cutting “Build on Demand” business model we are able to offer professional grade machine tools at better prices and reach customers that are outside of traditionally serviced areas.

The Build on Demand business model was designed to reduce prices by cutting the operation costs of the company and not reducing the product quality. We achieve this by removing extra costs like double transport, double storage, double insurance and reducing the number of permanent staff required to achieve the desired result.
